Depois do Haiti. Deus.

- Comeu-se demais na terra – gritava o pai dela. Comeu-se demais e morreu-se demais. Disse o Papa que o Núncio em Port au Prince tinha sobrevivido. - Graças a deus – disse o Papa. E graças a quem morreram os outros? Graças a quem sofreram? Graças a quem ficaram assim, gente sem nome nas ruas de Port au Prince, entregues à ignomínia das câmaras e da ajuda internacional, ao cheiro da carne putrefacta, à banalidade dos corpos insepultos, dos membros amputados? Que deus é este que se invoca para a graça excepcional e se iliba da tragédia colectiva? O ridículo deus pós – conciliar, o deus dos homens cultos, um deus sem lugar num Universo pequeno demais para o esconder, um deus inútil que já não ameaça nem castiga, um deus mais insignificante que a cúria romana e o Paparmani.

We are reposting their list here so that you could find organizations through which you can support Haitian relief efforts. Foundation Beyond Belief writes: "MADRE is a small organization with a high efficiency rating and a good track record in disaster relief that does not mix worldview with its charity. ActionAid International is an outstanding organization that is efficient, non-sectarian, and works with a small budget. International Relief Teams , AmeriCares , Doctors Without Borders , and Partners In Health all receive high ratings for the secular charitable work they do."
